Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit, and the door which gives access to other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in the mission: “Baptism is the sacrament or regeneration through water and in the word.”
- Catechism of the Catholic Church
Baptisms at Holy Sepulcher are celebrated on Sundays at 11:45 a.m.
First-time parents are required to attend a Baptism Preparation class offered at the parish. For information or to sign up for a class , please contact the Parish Office at 724-586-7610 or email@example.com.
Being a godparent is not an honorary title; it carries with it significant responsibilities to witness the life of faith to the child for which you stand. Parents need to carefully choose godparents for their children who are practicing Catholics in good standing with the Church, and be at least 16 years old, confirmed and have a certificate of eligibility from his or her home parish. A non-Catholic Christian may be a witness but not a godparent. A Catholic who has left the Catholic Church or is in an invalid marriage cannot be a godparent.
If you have any questions or need additional information about baptism, please contact the Faith Formation Office at 724-586-7276 or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
